Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PandaExpressCalorie.com (“the Site”, “we”, “us”, “our”), available at pandaexpresscalorie.com, collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.
PandaExpressCalorie.com is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Panda Express or Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., and we have no access to any Panda Express customer, order, rewards or gift card account.
1. Summary
- You can use every tool on the Site without an account and without telling us who you are.
- The calorie calculator runs in your browser. The items you add to a meal are not sent to us and are not stored after you leave the page.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used, and Google AdSense to show advertising.
- We only receive your name, email address and message if you choose to contact us.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address and message you send, plus anything you choose to attach or include. Please do not send sensitive information such as medical records, payment card numbers or gift card numbers.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit, some information is collected automatically by us or by the service providers named in this policy:
- Device and browser data: browser type and version, operating system, screen size, language and device type.
- Usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, the page that referred you, and an approximate location (country, region or city) derived from your IP address.
- Server log data: our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., processes IP addresses, request times and user agents to deliver pages, measure performance and block abuse.
- Advertising data: Google and its partners may collect cookie identifiers, device identifiers and interaction data when ads are shown. See section 4.
2.3 Information that stays on your device
- Your meal: items added in the calculator exist only in the open page. If you export a meal as a PDF or image, the file is created in your browser and saved to your own device. We never receive it.
- Location: if you tap “Panda Near Me” on the store locator, your browser asks for permission and then shares your position with the page so it can sort restaurants by distance. The sorting happens in your browser. We do not receive, log or store your location. You can always search by city, state or ZIP code instead.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We do not set our own advertising cookies. Cookies and similar identifiers on the Site come mainly from Google. Our Cookie Policy lists them in detail and explains how to control them.
| Provider | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdSense / DoubleClick | Serving and measuring ads, limiting repeat ads, preventing fraud and, where allowed, personalising ads | __gads, __gpi, __eoi, IDE, test_cookie |
| Google Analytics 4 | Counting visits and understanding how pages are used | _ga, _ga_* |
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Advertising is what keeps the calculator, allergen table and store locator free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.
- In Europe you can also use youronlinechoices.eu.
- Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), you will be asked for your choice through a Google-certified consent message, and ads are personalised only if you agree. Otherwise you may see non-personalised or limited ads.
To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Advertisers do not learn your identity from us, and they have no say over our content. Ads are labelled as ads and are kept visually separate from our nutrition information.
5. Analytics (Google Analytics)
Google Analytics 4 helps us see which pages are useful and where something is broken. It collects usage and device data through cookies. We do not use it to identify individual visitors and we never send Google your name or email address. IP addresses are not logged or stored by Google Analytics 4. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
6. How we use information
- To provide, maintain and fix the Site and its tools.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve accuracy, content and speed.
- To reply to your messages and act on corrections you send.
- To show advertising and measure how it performs.
- To detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents and technical problems.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
7. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on: your consent for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising; our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the Site and answering enquiries; and legal obligation where a law requires us to keep or disclose information. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that happened before.
8. How information is shared
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help run the Site: Vercel (hosting), Google (analytics, advertising and the embedded map on the store locator) and Web3Forms (delivering contact form messages to our inbox). Each processes data under its own privacy terms.
- Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or when needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our visitors, ourselves or others.
- A successor if the Site is ever transferred to a new owner, who would remain bound by this policy for information collected under it.
9. Your choices and opt-outs
- Cookies: block or delete them in your browser settings. The calculator, allergen table and store locator still work without cookies.
- Personalised ads: Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices.
- Analytics: the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Location: decline your browser's permission prompt, or turn it off later in your browser settings.
- Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track: we do not run our own cross-site tracking. Google responds to these signals under its own policies.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate information corrected, or have information deleted;
- object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time;
- receive your information in a portable format; and
- complain to your local data protection authority.
Because we hold very little personal information, most requests concern contact messages. To make a request, email pandaexpresscalorie@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we will reply within the time the law requires (normally 30 days under the GDPR and 45 days under U.S. state laws). For data held by Google, you can also use your Google account controls.
11. California and other U.S. states
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with privacy laws have rights to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of its “sale”, “sharing” or use for targeted advertising.
- Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (such as IP address and cookie IDs), internet activity (pages viewed and interactions), approximate geolocation, and, if you contact us, your name, email address and message.
- Sources: you, your browser, and the service providers listed in section 8.
- Sale and sharing: we do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies set by Google may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law. You can opt out using Google Ads Settings, by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser, or by emailing us.
- Sensitive information: we do not knowingly collect or use sensitive personal information.
- Non-discrimination: we will never treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision email with the subject “Privacy appeal”.
12. Data retention
- Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of corrections, and are deleted within 24 months.
- Google Analytics user-level data is kept for up to 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.
- Hosting logs are kept by Vercel for a short period for security and diagnostics.
- Advertising cookies remain on your device for the periods set by Google, unless you delete them sooner.
13. Security
The Site is served only over HTTPS and uses security headers such as a Content Security Policy and HSTS. Access to our inbox is protected. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send confidential information through the contact form.
14. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, these transfers rely on safeguards put in place by those providers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
15. Children's privacy
The Site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it promptly.
16. Third-party links
The Site links to websites we do not control, including pandaexpress.com and Google Maps. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to read them.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Site, our providers or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top always shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page.
18. Contact us
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy: email pandaexpresscalorie@gmail.com or use our contact page. We read every message.
